The Premier Estate Birdhouse weighs 26 pounds and is light enough to be set on any 4" X 4" post by simply using a ladder. We suggest using a 10 foot pressure treated 4" X 4" post (available at Home Depot, Lowes, or most any lumber yard). You may still prefer to build an EZ-CLEAN BIRDHOUSE POST to both facilitate setting the birdhouse on the post and to make cleaning out old nesting materials safer and truly easy (no ladder required).
