HOW TO ERECT BIRDHOUSE
on Tilt-up Post
Place the upper part of post (in tilted position) on base post. Be sure to align the angled ends so they will match when post is upright. Then place one of the two 8" galvenized bolts through the top hole in both the base and upper part of the post. Put the washer and nut on the bolt and finger tighten the nut. Prop up the post with a 2 X 4 or other piece of wood so that there's room enough to slide the birdhouse onto the post.

Assemble post to base and prop up post |
Slide birdhouse over the top of the post |
Carefully slide the birdhouse over the top of the post. (For the Large birdhouse this may require two people.)
Raise the post. (Again the large birdhouse may require two people due to its weight.)
 Raise post |
 put in bolt |
Put the remaining 8" bolt in the bottom hole, and place the washer and nut on the bolt finger tight.
There is a small amount of "play" because the bolts are slightly loose in the holes in the post, so it's a good idea to check the post with a level, adjust accordingly, tighten the bolts, and double check that it's still level. The bottom of the level is just barely visible at the top of the photo. (OOPS)

 Finished |
If all has gone as planned, the finished post with birdhouse should look something like this.
